The Fixed Up Minolta 28mm Lens

The Minolta MC W.ROKKOR-SI 28mm f/2.5 lens has had the fungus cleaned and it sat under a blacklight bulb for ten days to clear up the yellowed Thorium lens elements. Today is the first time I've used the lens since its makeover as I've been concentrating on the Canon L series Prime lenses I've been acquiring.

The lens is now useable. My next step with respect to the Minolta lenses may be to get the 100mm lens cleaned as I have no Canon lenses longer than 50mm and I'm more likely to use the longer focal lengths than focal lengths that duplicate Canon lenses I have. The 100mm lens, to my eye, has more internal dust than I like but we'll see if Allen at Camera Works thinks it's necessary. The 200mm lens, which cost me $20, has quite a bit of very fine scratches on the front element but it probably doesn't affect images and if it does it would only be a slight softening.

Here are some of the images from today with the 28mm lens.
