Dragon Boat Racing 2022

The last time the Pan Am Dragon Boats were in Waterford was about this time in 2019. That gallery is located at https://trulandphotography.com/dragonboats2019.

That was a day not unlike today. Thin, hazy clouds with temperatures in the 90s. My strategy on both occasions was to be there early and be home processing photos before afternoon temperatures kicked in.

This year, I had the opportunity to ride along in the chase boat for one of the races before the noontime break. That vantage point worked out really well. With action sports, closer is always better.

I used my 5DS with a rented EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM lens and my 90D with my EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM. This year's 68 image gallery is located at https://trulandphotography.com/db2022. Here are some samples from both setups.
