Filling In the Champlain Canalway Trail
I have now walked all of the Champlain Canalway Trail between the Mohawk River and Upper Newtown Road in Halfmoon. I'm guessing this portion of the trail is about eight miles. At some point this summer I'll walk it in one direction and get a definitive distance.
Today's portion started at Brookwood Road where there's a nice parking area right next to the trail. The parking area is also a short walk down to the river to Lighthouse Park. Heading north, the trail transitions at Upper Newtown Road to Route 4, along the road.
