Another Canal Sunrise

It was overcast and rainy prior to sunrise today but the hourly forecast was for some clearing after sunrise. So, I headed over to lock E5 ahead of sunrise and waited to see what would happen.

There was a bit of clearing as these photos indicate but by the time I was done, it was completely overcast again. Still, it was a nice, calm dawn and it's always nice to get out under a big sky.

I started out with the 24-70mm image stabilized lens but changed to the 17-40mm non stabilized lens once it became apparent that 24mm wasn't going to be wide enough to capture everything. All of the photos here are with the wider lens.

To keep shutter speeds up enough to hand hold the non stabilized lens for the five bracketed shots I used f/6.7 instead of f/8 and raised the ISO to 800. The slowest speed in this set was about 1/60th of a second.
