Now that I am a park volunteer for the trails at the Saratoga Battlefield, I need to be there more often than I would be otherwise. As a result, other local locations will be visited less frequently.

As a government shutdown looked likely, the National Park Service announced that parks would close beginning on Monday. Next week's weather forecast is for temperatures in the low 80s and I had expected to be able to get around to some New York State Parks. Now that a shutdown has been put off for a time I will spend some of those nice days at the battlefield, the week leading up to the 146th anniversary of the October 7th battle.

So, this morning I visited Grafton Lakes State Park where a bit of fog was still burning off as I arrived. Details are in the captions and descriptions.
